This calf of Photon (NW Atlantic) is known from the collaborative efforts of the Center for Coastal Studies, the North Atlantic Humpback Whale Catalog at Allied Whale, College of the Atlantic and their contributors. Submissions are matched to these catalogs and contribute to their long-term work, thanks to a partnership with Happywhale. This calf will be named in the future through a long-standing, community process led by CCS in the Gulf of Maine.
