This whale is known as a male from genetic ID by the OSU Cetacean Conservation and Genomics Lab. Known from research by Alaska Whale Foundation, and from the Humpback Whales of Southeastern Alaska (SEAK) Humpback Whale Photo ID catalog managed by the University of Alaska Southeast. Also sighted as HW-MN0400751 (dorsal surface)
