Guardian is known from the Marine Education and Research Society Humpback Whale Catalog -- see photo, a known female. She has been documented in the waters off of North East Vancouver Island since 2011 by MERS. Her nickname is due to the original look of her tail - she had a yellow outline of an angel in the middle of her tail. Thank you Marieke Knierim for this information.
