Fluke of Bowling Confirmed in the catalog

Bowling @82910

This calf of Owl is known from the collaborative efforts of the Center for Coastal Studies, the North Atlantic Humpback Whale Catalog at Allied Whale, College of the Atlantic and their contributors. Submissions are matched to these catalogs and contribute to their long-term work, thanks to a partnership with Happywhale. Humpback whales in the Gulf of Maine are named based on their fluke patterns through a long-standing community process. This whale was named for the marks on the upper left fluke that are like the finger holes in a bowling ball and for the additional 'balls' and the sweeping mark at the bottom of that side of the tail that are reminiscent of the bowling pin resetting device. Also sighted as HW-MN0103912
