Fluke of Loie Confirmed in the catalog

Loie @10926

"Loie", CRC-11818 aka WGRP184, has been spotted in both northern (Bodega Bay) and southern California (Santa Barbara), as well as in the winter breeding grounds of Guerrero in Pacific Mexico. Loie was first seen in 2004, and then again in 2006, 2007, and 2008 in California feeding grounds. CRC-11818 is known as a female from the SPLASH project by Cascadia Research Collective and collaborators, helping us understand structure of populations and abundance of humpback whales in the Pacific Ocean. One account of a sighting: "When we saw Loie on January 7, 2017, it was traveling with another (unknown) adult whale. They were traveling along in perfect synchronicity with each other, when Loie proceeded to breach! After that, there was lots of rolling around just below the water’s surface. What were they doing down there? Only they know…"
